In light of the public alarm created in recent days regarding the possible murder of several people in Bilbao, Bilbao Bizkaia HARRO makes the following considerations:
•Respects the police investigation carried out by the Ertzaintza – currently under seal – and expresses its desire that it ends as soon as possible with the arrest and judicial appointment of the person responsible for the deaths.
•He conveys his support to the families of the victims, and out of respect for their grief, will not make any assessment until the police investigation is complete.
•Finally, it calls on the responsibility of the media and the public in general not to increase social alarm by focusing on the sexual orientation of the victims, avoiding fueling the stigmatization of the LGBTI community.
