Guided tour: Leisure, culture and environment (June 2026)
It’s not just a route. It’s a living experience. A story told in the streets, with skin, with voice.
For 1 hour and 15 minutes you will explore Bilbao from a different perspective: that of pride, resistance and the memory of the LGBTI+ community.
We’ll depart from the Tourist Office (Plaza Circular, Bilbao) and travel through spaces that served as both refuge and stronghold against Francoist persecution. You’ll hear previously untold testimonies, discover hidden archives, and meet the faces of those who broke the silence when everything seemed stacked against them. We give prominence to lesbian, bisexual, and trans women—those whom history tried to erase… but who resisted, fought, and transformed the city with every step. We’ll discuss the stigma of HIV, yes, but also the dignity with which it was faced. You’ll see how, from the shadows, spaces of freedom, desire, and community emerged. Corners where love was rebellion and celebration, a way to stay alive.
The visit will also help you discover different corners of the city full of history and heritage
Because Bilbao is also about Pride. LGBTI+ Pride. And this time, you won’t just hear about it: you’ll experience it.
